meet carter. she's thirty, and has lived in whispering years for a total of twenty years, with a ten year stretch in between. she grew up here, went to school here, and graduated here. she fell in love here. she killed her best friend here. see, carter's not exactly the well put together adult she seems to be. when she was eighteen, just hours after graduation, she and her friend norah were in a car accident. norah, drunk and riding shotgun, died in carter's arms, minutes before the cops and fire department arrived. carter, driving unknowingly under the influence of ghb, walked away without a scratch. she had felt the effects, but thought since she hadn't drank anything but soda that night, she was safe to drive. twelve years later, she still blames herself for killing norah. that's why she left a few days after the accident. she went to school for journalism, did some crap jobs, before she was offered the job she wanted here in whispering woods, ten years after the accident. she came back, and has now been in whispering woods for two years. she still avoids the accident. but she can't help feeling that norah's there...

this is leanna. she's twenty-eight, the second oldest of all her cousins. she's got like 94834938742 of them. she's lived in whispering woods all her life, and only really knows what's beyond the walls of maine because of her senior trip to new york city. she doesn't like leaving the town limits if she doesn't have to. the city makes her nervous. she attended an art school and graduated with honors, before going to a community college to take some cooking classes. finding a creative way to combine both of these skills, leanna landed a job with alyona and kennedy russak, working at the perkanya, or bakery. being there for as long as she has, it isn't surprising she's picked up a few words and phrases in russian, but she's nowhere near as fluent as her sister-bosses. leanna's not a girl to really date. she's more like waiting for that guy to walk into her life and sweep her off her feet, if her little infatuation with kissing girls doesn't get in the way...
