Noah laughed when Ava said she was sorry for everything but today. "Well fine then, maybe I won't be sorry," he teased. Of course he knew he really was so he wasn't really going back on his word now. When Ava asked why he was really back, Noah answered her right away. "My....my step-dad. He died. Stupid fuck drank himself to death. I'm not all that surprised." The level and tone of disgust was off the charts in Noah's voice. "Mom was really upset, didn't want to be alone so..." He shrugged as best as he could in his position. "Here I am. I brought one of my friends from New York with me. Her name is Scarlett. I think you'd like her." Actually, he knew for a fact that Ava would like Scarlett. In a lot of ways, she was like Gina only maybe not so promiscuous and sexy. But in a lot of other ways, she was a lot like him. Scarlett was the feminine version of himself which was why their friendship worked so well.

She chuckled quietly when Noah changed his mind, telling her that maybe he wasn't sorry for today. She hoped he wasn't, especially about the last couple of hours since they'd been some of the best hours of her life. She let her eyes close and sighed in contentment. After tonight she wasn't sure how she'd managed to go without him for six whole years. If she had her way she'd never let him out of her sight again. It'd become pretty obvious to her over the last few hours that she couldn't live without him... Well, not properly anyway... She could exist... But live? No, not really.
"My....my step-dad. He died. Stupid fuck drank himself to death. I'm not all that surprised." His tone of voice was so harsh that it even caused Ava to flinch slightly. She'd known about Noah's relationship with his dad growing up, and she knew that it wasnt't good. Hell, it'd sucked for him. "Mom was really upset, didn't want to be alone so..." She nodded, placing a kiss on his jaw. Ava had helped out with Noah's mum whenever she could. It'd been her only connection to Noah at the time, although she hadn't admitted that to anyone, not even herself until recently... Very recently. "Here I am. I brought one of my friends from New York with me. Her name is Scarlett. I think you'd like her."
She had no doubt that she would like the girl he was talking about. Noah had good taste in friends... He'd been friends with her afterall. Of course, she doubted that she'd have a friend whom she'd be as close to as she had been to Gina, but that was in the past now. "I'm sorry about your step dad," She offered, although considering the fact that those two had never seen eye to eye, she wondered how upset he was about the whole thing. Probably not a lot. "You'll have to introduce her to me sometime..." She said smiling, referring to Scarlett. {7f78c4} [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Even as Ava said she was sorry about his step-dad, Noah still didn't think highly of the guy. Hanna had married Derek Scott when Noah was young since she didn't know who his father was and wanted him to have that male figure in his life. He had a theory that Hanna just picked the first random loser off the streets and decided she would settle. When Noah was born, his last name was James since it was his mothers maiden name. Once she married Derek, he became Noah Scott and while he didn't care for the name, he couldn't do anything about it. There were times Noah considered changing his last name back to James but what was the point? It didn't change anything. Only his name. He would always be the son of Hanna James, the slutty 20 year old Whispering Woods girl who got knocked up by some random guy she didn't even know, and the step-son of Derek Scott, the random loser she settled down with.
He wasn't going to talk about it anymore. Instead, Noah continued on about Scarlett with a grin. "Trust me I think you two will be very good friends. She's a Southern girl from Memphis. Really smart too. She doesn't have a family to go home to so I offered to let her come stay with me and Mom. Needless to say, she was overjoyed. She didn't want to be in New York by herself.". And Noah certainly wasn't gonna leave her there. Ava didn't need to know they had a thing their freshman year because it really meant nothing as far as he was concerned. He'd tried to get over her with Scarlett...it failed. Life went on. And he and Scarlett remained good friends.

Ava let out a small sigh, thinking about how different their two families were. Noah had never known his dad... True, biological dad, whereas Ava couldn't imagine not knowing him. She took her family for granted but she hadn't truly realised that until now. She had her mum and her dad, both of which loved her as well as each other. She'd never had to deal with step parents or step siblings or step anything.
"Trust me I think you two will be very good friends. She's a Southern girl from Memphis. Really smart too. She doesn't have a family to go home to so I offered to let her come stay with me and Mom. Needless to say, she was overjoyed. She didn't want to be in New York by herself." Ava quickly came to the conclusion that Noah really liked Scarlett. The grin on his face and just the way he spoke about her would make anybody go to the same conclusion. "That was nice of you,"
She commented, although she knew that he wouldn't have left her there. That wasn't who he was. "So your mum's not alone then? I mean, Scarlett's there?" In Ava's eyes it was too late for him to be going home anyway, but she knew that if his mum rang, he'd probably leave and go straight home... And Ava wasn't ready to say goodbye to him just yet... {7f78c4} [/blockquote][/blockquote]
